"The sorrowful autumn is nearing its end. You feel proud; you have secured a position as a telephone operator at a prestigious company. Today is your first day.

You adjust your coat, step outside, and make your way through the somber streets of your hometown, Tomillar del Alba —the place where you were born— towards your new workplace. You arrive at an imposing building, its summit difficult to discern due to the foggy atmosphere of the day. As you enter the structure, you sense an ominous yet friendly ambiance. You cross a bustling reception area; however, despite the crowd, it feels devoid of life: individuals who resemble nothing more than shells emitting sounds, moving about and swaying… perhaps it is the early hour that necessitates their attendance at work. Next, you reach the staircase, your feet feeling as heavy as if they were anvils. Each step seems more exhausting than the last, but you finally arrive at your floor. A few colleagues greet you with gestures that are both kind and insincere, directing you to your work station, with your chair and telephone switchboard. You prepare to take a seat." 

Hello, connect me with... is an immersive game that simulates the work of early telephone operators: receive calls, act as an interpreter, connect them, listen and uncover the story hidden within the streets of Tomillar del Alba, the fictional village in which is set, during the early years of Spain under Franco.

Controls: to play the game you will need a mouse and a keypad. Events are selected through clicks. You will need the keypad to write notes inside the game.

«El pesaroso otoño está próximo a finalizar. Estás orgullosa, has conseguido empleo como telefonista en una empresa de renombre. Empiezas hoy.

Te acomodas el abrigo, sales de casa, te diriges a través de las apesadumbradas calles de tu pueblo, Tomillar del Alba — el pueblo que te vio nacer—, hacia tu nuevo puesto. Llegas a un imponente edificio, cuya cumbrera es difícil de discernir por el ambiente neblinoso del día de hoy. Te adentras en la construcción: te sumerges en su ambiente ominoso pero afable. Cruzas un ajetreado recibidor, pero por más lleno que esté lo sientes sin vida: personas que más que seres racionales parecen cascarones que emiten sonidos, se desplazan y se tambalean… quizá sea por la temprana hora a la que se ha de acudir al laburo. A continuación, llegas a la escalera, te pesan los pies igual que si de yunques se trataran. Cada escalón se te hace más cansino que el anterior, pero llegas a tu planta. Unas compañeras te reciben, con gestos amables a la par que falsos, y te indican dónde se halla tu puesto, con tu silla y tu centralita. Te dispones a sentarte».

Hello, connect me with… es un juego inmersivo en el que se simula un trabajo de las antiguas telefonistas: recibe llamadas, haz de intérprete, conéctalas, escucha y descubre la historia que se esconde entre las calles de Tomillar del Alba, el pueblo ficticio en el que se ambienta, durante la España del primer franquismo. 

Controles: para jugar al juego se necesita ratón y teclado. Por medio del clic se accionan los eventos. El teclado se necesita para escribir anotaciones dentro del juego.
